Who we are
We're Youthority
Youthority is a youth safety organisation founded by Laura Chappell, with a background working alongside young people, families, schools, and youth services.
Our work focuses on helping young people build real-world safety skills and independence, while supporting parents to move away from fear-based or surveillance-led approaches.
Everything we create is grounded in lived experience, frontline youth work, and ongoing conversations with families navigating safety in real life.
You'll discover your current safety style:
Your approach to safety shapes how your child learns to handle risk, independence, and asking for help.
Knowing your safety style helps you understand what’s working, what’s creating friction, and what might need to change.

The Protector
You stay closely involved and feel most comfortable knowing exactly what’s going on so you can step in if needed.

The Bridge-Builder
You try to hold both safety and independence, checking in while also giving your child space to manage things themselves.

The Trust-Builder
You place a strong emphasis on trust and autonomy, believing your child can handle situations, reaching out if they need.

The Reflector
You’re questioning whether your current safety approaches still apply and are reflecting on what might need to change.
